Bartercard’s Mission

To enhance the lives of people by creating value and opportunity from the unrealized potential in the business of each member around the world.

Bartercard’s Vision

To be the leading global marketplace where businesses connect and barter-trade their goods and services.

The Number One Goal

The Bartercard Story

Principle Founder Brian Hall, Principle Founder Andrew Federowsky, Principle Founder Wayne Sharpe and first employee Maree St Clair started Bartercard on the Gold Coast, Australia, in 1991. This team shared a vision for Bartercard to become the world’s largest trade exchange and a globally recognized business-to-business brand.

Bartercard now supports 75 offices globally who successfully trade on a daily basis.

It was in 1995 that Bartercard International was created to replicate the model globally. Currently Bartercard operates in nine countries; North America, the Asia Pacific Rim, South Africa, Middle East and Europe with new International License enquiries regularly.

Our Story

In June 2012 Paul Bolte, from Australia, (then CEO of Bartercard New Zealand) approached the shareholders of Bartercard International to launch the US market. In September 2012 Bartercard USA Inc was incorporated and that same month the national offices were established in Charleston South Carolina, and first employee Joshua Kristowski was recruited to help prepare for the launch of Bartercard in the United States.

In January 2013 Paul Bolte was appointed as President & CEO of the newly formed Bartercard USA and in August 2013 the first Franchise (Bartercard Charleston) was launched. Bartercard USA has a very clear mission of enhancing people’s lives, and goal of expanding into 300 territories having in excess of 500,000 cardholders across the US, and reaching trade volumes in excess of 10 billion yearly.
